Your cup size may not be accurate if you used the traditional method to measure for your bra size.

There is a lingerie boutique in England called Rigby & Peller that understands that the shape of the breast is just as important as the cupless bra size.

A recent customer of this lingerie shop went in to have her 36A size redetermined. Because of the shape of her breasts and some other factors that had changed since her last measurement, she discovered that her true bra size should be a 32C. This is quite a bit different and there are many reasons for the discrepancy.

The first measurement was done with clothing on, which could explain some of the difference in band size. The rest could be explained with a recent weight loss.

The cup size, however, was due to the shape of the breast.

Smaller breasts tend to be wider. This is the reason that some small breasted women will increase their cup size to find a bra that fits properly.

This particular lingerie store sees many women who come in wearing the wrong bra size for a myriad of reasons. The typical problem is women wearing a band size that is too large and a cup size that is too small.

This creates multiple problems in the fit and look of the bra.

If you notice that the back of your bra is riding up and your breasts are not level with the band, then you are wearing a band size that is too large. Check to make sure that it is not digging into your skin in the back as well. This is a sign that the band size is too small. You don’t want to create the back fat look.

If the cups gap in the front, you might think that you are not filling them out properly and the cup size is too large, the opposite could be true. You are wearing a cup size that is too small.

Material creasing on the side of your bra is another indication that the band size is too large.

To determine your band size you should measure around your back and chest, under your breasts. Add four to the number if it is even and five if it is odd.

When you go shopping for bras, try on the bras with larger cup sizes than you ordinarily wear. Try a couple of sizes up to see the difference. You might need to try on a couple of different sizes in the different brands of bras.

This is because different manufacturers cut the bras a little bit different and that will have an affect on the way the bra fits.

Look for one that flatters and fits you perfectly.

It’s important that you try on the bra when you are shopping. You will not know if the bra will enhance or cause more problems when you are wearing it.

Use the tape measure method to determine your bra size, but also try on different sizes in different styles to get the best fit.

If you have ever seen someone with their bra strap showing and it matches their shirt perfectly. You might be wondering if they let that strap show on purpose.

Well chances are they did and it was not an accident that the shirt and the bra matched.

A good quality cupless bra is not cheap. You probably can’t afford to have one in every possible color of the rainbow.

So how can you be sure you have a good collection of bras to match with your tops? Keep the basics in your drawer and you will never have to worry about it.

You should make sure that you have the basics covered in your wardrobe and bra collection.

You can add a basic black cupless bra to your wardrobe but it wouldn’t really make a splash when the strap shows through your shirt.

Try to find one with an unusual design on the strap that will be noticeable when it slips sexily off your shoulder. Go for lace or beads on the strap to give you a unique look.

In your collection of bras you should have one bra in taupe.

This is the perfect color for under a white top. The color will keep everything covered up should you end up soaked from a sudden rain shower. You should also get one in pink; this is just an ultra feminine color that will make you feel girly and pretty.

Try for blue, and of course one white. These colors should meet every possible combination of clothing that you have. A nice pretty one with a pattern is also great to add to your collection.

Add some of those rose and lace colored numbers to your wardrobe for those moments when you are looking for something to wear under a loose summery blouse.

If you are going to build a good wardrobe of bras you will want to be sure to add all of these selections to your collection.

You will have a bra for every occasion if you build your wardrobe carefully. Why not add a racy red one in the collection for good measure?
